Last night Bruno told us about Al's, which is the narrowest diner as it's built inside an alleyway.

@[11955325695:Bob Dylan] use to eat here and apparently they do the most amazing breakfast.

There was only space for about ten customers at the bar and there were at least another ten standing behind them waiting for seats, so we decided not to wait around.

We went for breakfast at the Birchwood Cafe. It was so lovely, so we sat outside under the trees.

I ordered the most amazing savoury waffle, which was topped with a fried egg on one quarter, salmon on another and fruit and nuts on the other two.

The waffle itself was filled with sweet corn and herbs and tasted amazing.

We took a pit stop for root beer from A&W.

It came in frosted mugs which were too cold to hold and Tom's seemed to turn in to a slushy.

We stopped for lunch in Fargo, a city we knew little about apart from the movie named after it and that it has really harsh winters.

It was actually really pretty on this warm summer day.

We even spotted some @[26807645578:knittaplease] graffiti on one of the trees.

We went for lunch at the Green Market Kitchen, which was the only place I could find when doing research for my North Dakota to-see list.

It was so amazing and even the bread basket made our mouths water.

I had a vegetable and fetta sandwich on flat bread which was exactly what I needed. We were so happily full afterwards.

We picked up some coffee from Caribou which is the local chain coffee shop and got back on the road.

After a few hundred miles we crossed the state line again in to South Dakota. The land of "great face, great places".

We celebrated with the trip computer hit 1,000 miles!

We raced the sunset to make it to Sioux Falls while it was still daylight.

We made it in time and it was so pretty.

We then went for a drink in a really cool diner.

I had a peanut butter milkshake which was like a meal in itself.

Tom tried to look manly while sipping on his Shirley Temple. Even the waitress giggled at him.

We shared a fried twinkie which tasted pretty much like a donut.

After a few hundred more miles we arrived back to Omaha feeling very sleepy.
