We met Claire at The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities, which is somewhere I've been desperate to go to and, with Halloween a few weeks ago, felt like the perfect spot to catch up at.
-
-
The museum is ran by The Last Tuesday Society and there's a cocktail bar upstairs.
-
-
I had the Happy & You Know It cocktail with gin, Chambord, elderberry elixir, egg white, soda and rosemary. Tom had the This Is Not A Brothel with bourbon, rosemary sugar and old time bitters.
-
-
The bar snack selection was quite interesting, with a mini platter of insects, an armour tail scorpion and edible chocolate anus on the menu.
-
-
-
It was then time to head down into the museum to check out some of the curiosities.
-
-
-
-
I loved the glass cases and bell jars filled with strange skeletons and pickled creatures.
-
-
-
-
The jars I didn't like so much were the ones filled with celebrity poo, though I'm left wondering how on earth the museum would have obtained these.
-
-
The fairies and mermen were my favourites, especially these impossible small fairy flies.
-
-
-
-
There's a Sarcophagus Table in the museum that you can rent out for private events with a merman floating above the table.
-
-
-
-
Claire and I loved the witches room. It even had a book of spells just like Hocus Pocus and we wished we could have our Halloween in it.
-
-
The fly theatre and spider chandelier were especially creepy when you looked closely at them. They made my back crawl a little.
-
-
-
As well as the world's longest standing erection, a gold plated rhino skull and the world's only dancing mole, there was so much to see so we'll have to come back again.
-
-
-
Back upstairs, there were lots of skulls for sale and I was pretty tempted to buy a cat skull.
