We enjoyed our meal at the top of The Gherkin so much last night that we decided to go again for the London Restaurant Festival tonight.
-
-
-
-
This time we chose the Oxo Tower on the Southbank as it's the restaurant that I assosiate most with movies set in London.
-
-
-
Our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived, so we sat out on the terrace with blankets and had cocktails while enjoying the view.

I had an English Garden Margarita with tequila, peach aperitif, orange flower water earl grey, sugar snap peas and fresh mint. Tom, inspired by one of his favourite bands, tried the At The Drive-Inn old fashioned with Jack Daniel's, maple syrup, chocolate bitters and popcorn essence.

-
When we finished our drinks, we were shown inside to our table, where we were sat next to the window with a lovely view of St Paul's Cathedral and the Thames.
-
-
Glasses of champagne were poured.
-
-
To start, we both ordered the hot-cured salmon with roasted beetroot, celeriac and apple remoulade and gremolata. It's not often that we order the same dish but this sounded so good and I didn't want to get food envy.
-
-
For my main course, I had the roasted squash raviolini which was stuffed with pickled sweet peppers, grilled courgettes, goats cheese and basil pistou.
-
-
-
Tom had crispy fried haddock, cuttlefish and chickpea stew with spiced aioli.
-
-
For dessert, I had creme brûlée which is always my favourite, and this one was topped with Bramley apple and a raisin biscuit.

-
Tom had a chocolate brownie with walnuts and coffee cream. It was topped with shards of coffee brittle which were really tasty.
