After waking up in Boston this morning, we drove to Salem, a town I've wanted to visit since I first saw Hocus Pocus and Bewitched.
We had breakfast at Coven, a dessert and cereal bar. It proves that even witches need their cereal.
We loved the cereal bowls which came with milk straws.
The town was filled with coffee, cat-nip, magic shops and lots of witches.
We took a walk down to the historic port, admiring all the pretty houses along the way.
Almost all of them had a pumpkin, witch or scarecrow outside.
We then picked up a pumpkin patch mocha from the coffee shop.
We stopped to see Gallows Hill on our way out, where witch hangings were rumoured to have taken place.
It was then time to cross the border into our next state, New Hampshire, where the slogan was "live free or die".
We stopped in Portsmouth to have a look around the town which was eerily British.
We then crossed the state line in to Maine, our second last state of the trip.
The trees were looking really dead and it was getting really cold.
We went for dinner at Otto, which really did remind us of the Otto in London.
We had a tasty salad.
We then had a pizza topped with butternut squash, ricotta and cranberries which was delicious.
