When we woke up this morning, the view outside the train was all green and heavenly, just like the side of my Dorset Crunch cereal boxes.

  2. Edit

The train man brought us trays of breakfast and we got ready to get off.

  3. Checkin at St. Erth Station
    1. Edit

We got off the sleeper train at St Erth where we would catch our connecting train to St Ives.

  4. Edit

The train ride was so pretty.

  5. Checkin at St. Ives Cornwall Station
    1. Edit

After another short train ride we arrived in St. Ives, a place I'd be wishing to go to since I read about it in @[12013348247:Country Living] and @[151007478267640:Cath Kidston] Magazine.

  6. Edit

We made our way in to the town which had lots of windy cobbled streets covered in fairy lights and bunting.

  7. Facebook Checkin at St Ives Harbour at 10 May 08:38
    1. Edit

We were a little too early for any of the shops to be open so we walked down to the harbour.

    2. Edit

Lots of artists come to paint in St Ives because there's something special about the light.

We followed the shore around to a second beach where surfers where riding the waves.

  9. Edit

The sea was such an amazing colour.

  10. Facebook Checkin at Porthmear Cafe Bar at 10 May 09:21
    1. Edit

We stopped for breakfast at Porthmear Cafe which was right on the beach and had a lovely view over the waves.

    2. Edit

The cutlery came in a sand bucket and the menu was decorated with ship wreck newspapers.

    3. Edit

I tried the Monkey Business smoothie which was banana, peanut butter, yogurt and granola. It was delicious.

    4. Edit

I also had an omelette stuffed with caramlized butternut squash, runner beans and goats cheese which was amazing. Tom had saffron toast which was really nice too.

  11. Checkin at Tate Gallery, St Ives
    1. Edit

The Tate was right next to the cafe, so we went for a look but all of the galleries were being rehung. It was a cool building though.

  12. Edit

Afterwards we went to explore the town. There was so much nautical decor everywhere.

    1. Edit

We then jumped on an open top bus which would take us along the coast to Land's End.

    2. Edit

It was a fun ride though really windy at times. Tom had to hold his hat on.

  17. Checkin at Sennen Cove
    1. Edit

One of the stops was Sennen Cove which was a really pretty beach.

  18. Facebook Checkin at Land's End at 10 May 12:50
    1. Edit

After an hour and a half we arrived at Land's End.

    2. Edit

There were some standing stones surrounded by minature houses.

    3. Edit

There wasn't much to see apart from a tacky visitor's centre where we managed to get a squished penny but we really came for the dot on our fBlog maps.

    4. Edit

There were some plaques of new year's resolutions people had made for the millenium.

    5. Edit

I picked up a Cornish pasty for lunch and we headed off to catch a bus to Penzance.

  19. Facebook Checkin at The Crown at 10 May 14:50
    1. Edit

Tom picked up a Rail Ale Train booklet at the station which you could get stamped in various pubs along the train line, so we stopped off in a couple of pubs to get ours stamped.

  22. Facebook Checkin at Harbour Gourmet Fish and Chips at 10 May 19:27
    1. Edit

We went for dinner in the Harbour Fish & Chip bar which was amazing and more like a restaurant than a chip shop.

    2. Edit

I had grilled salmon with chips which was delicious. All of the meals came with parsnip crisps sprinkled on top.

    3. Edit

We also shared a pot of mussels which were really nice.

    1. Edit
