Today Tom’s parents took us on a lovely ride through the countryside. There was so much wildlife, including horses, a hare, falcons and a crow which leaped on to a sheep’s back.
We passed a really tiny lending library which is based inside a phone box.
We stopped for a drink in a little pub where an old man told us stories from the days when he helped build the Kincardine Bridge.
On the road to Crieff, we passed a memorial for the last witch to be burnt in Scotland in 1657.
We stopped in Crieff for dinner at Delivino's, where we had pizza and Prosecco.
There was an amazing looking sweet shop but it was closed for New Year. I really wanted to try some of these licorice bonbons. I wonder if there's anywhere I can get them in London?!
In the evening we went back to Burntisland and walked down to the beach with my parents. There was a strange ship covered in fairy lights sitting a little way off shore.
Tom had been wanting to try a deep fried pizza while we were home, as they don’t exist in London. We picked one up from Romano’s to eat on the beach.
We stopped in our local, The Sands for a few drinks, watched some awful old man karaoke and then headed home and Nana came over. We had drinks and nibbles while we waited for midnight.
We headed down to the beach again for midnight and watched the fireworks at Edinburgh castle. There were fireworks on Burntisland beach too and lots of fire lanterns being sent up in to the sky. Happy New Year everyone!
