It was really rainy this morning so we had a nice long lie in before going for a walk along the coast. It was too cold to go for a swim in the sea today but we will soon.

The beaches in Tenerife have black sand naturally but yellow sand was shipped in from Africa to make the beaches on the south coast more attractive to the tourists. I want to find a black beach later in the week and make a black sand castle.

  3. Checkin at Hooters Bar
    1. Edit

There were lots of classy bars along the way, including a bar called Glasgow written in the Mars font and a Hooters.

Eventually we got to Las Americas, which felt a lot like what I’d imagine Las Vegas would be like. Would it be bad to tell you that we walked all the way here so that Tom could have a look in the Sanrio shop?

  5. Edit

We did some food shopping before heading back. Tom couldn’t resist taking a photo of the Zwan branded food – I guess it’s doing better than the band ever did.

  6. Edit

The volcano looked pretty intimidating on such a grey day. There was a cute cat to pet on the walk home.

  7. Edit

We watched some surfers on the beach for a while before it started raining again.

  8. Edit

We hid from the weather in a cafe and had coffee and cake. The nutty cheesecake was delicious.

  9. Checkin at Sunset Bay Adeje
    1. Edit

We got back to the apartment just in time for sunset.

    2. Edit

For Christmas, I got my Mum a risotto making lesson at Jaime Olive’s cooking school and on Thursday she went along to the class. So, for dinner tonight, she showed off her new skills and it was delicious.
