Today was an adventure day with Martyn. We got up super early for breakfast with Emma (although she slept in) and headed to Plan 9, where Martyn claimed that he’d “had the best breakfast he’d ever had”.
Tom’s sandwich looked like a face, Emma thought it looked like the sugarpuff monster and I thought it looked a bit like Groucho from Sesame Street.
After breakfast, we headed to Maida Hill market, where they have one of the “Play Me, I’m Yours” street pianos.
Tom impressed us and the passersby. We really need to get him his own piano.
We then walked down to Portobello Road and went record shopping in Rough Trade West. It looks just like Avalanche in Edinburgh use to and made us miss the old days. We got an Adam Green record for 50p.
We then had cupcakes from Hummingbird, opting for yummy peanut butter and red velvet.
Afterwards, we headed over to Liverpool Street for more record shopping at Rough Trade East. I bought Tom a new record bag for his birthday, to replace the one he had stolen years ago.
We had our photos taken in the photo booth. I’d be on the hunt for photo booths that take 4 different shots in London for ages.
I had some yummy Japanese food from the market stalls outside. I’d wanted to have food from a cute take-out box like this for ages, so that was another thing ticked off my list.
After that, we met up with Isobel and went for a lounge in Green Park. There were posh people playing bowls and having a very fancy picnic. We invented a new word for being jealous of rich people, “Nigealous”, like Nigella Lawson.
Later, we headed home, Emma came down and I cooked everyone spaghetti.
