    As part of our birthday fun, we got in the car and headed to Newport. My Mum and I have always wanted to visit Wales as we're Manics fans. We did a little sigh for Richey as we passed over the Severn Bridged.

      Eventually we arrived at our hotel, the Crescent Guest House which was really nice and leafy.

    After unpacking our bags, we headed in to town to see the sights. Newport reminds me a lot of Glenrothes.

      In the evening we were off to see the @[92577111088:Manic Street Preachers] at the Newport Lesisure Centre for their Homecoming Gig.

      We had a drink in the leisure centre cafe beforehand and it was very surreal sitting between the gig-goers swigging their beer and the parents waiting for their kids to get out of the pool.

      The gig was really good, though it was a bit weird watching the Manics while sitting down. They even did a cover of Umbrella by Rihanna.

    Wales seems really nice so far and everyone is lovely. I like their accents.
