Russia’s finest dancers meet France’s most iconic designer, Coco Chanel and the music of Handel for the Modanse Double Bill, featuring superstar prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova.

After premiering at the Bolshoi Theatre in June, the dancers have come to London for three nights this December in the opulent surroundings of the London Coliseum.

Home to the English National Opera, the stage is a fitting location for Come Un Respiro, a dramatic and passionate ballet set to Handel’s baroque music.

Translating to Like A Breath, Come Un Respiro features a sensual duet between Svetlana and Denis Savin in costumes designed to emphasise the sexuality of the dancers by Helena de Medeiros.

The second part of the evening is a tribute to legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel.

Swapping stilettos for ballet pumps, Svetlana is transformed into the designer, posing in front of her mirror reflection projected on a giant screen.

A flash of pearls, silk and houndstooth fly across the stage with over 80 costumes designed exclusively by the Chanel Creative Studio.

A stunning mix of dance and fashion, set against a stage of black and white, this ballet is as iconic and chic as the designer herself.
