    1. Edit

We started our day with breakfast at The Holborn Dining Rooms whose luxurious decor reminded me of a fancy train carriage.

Tom liked the salt & pepper grinders on our table, but quickly put them down, after looking up their price to realise they cost £125 each.

We'd picked this place because I'd heard the waffles were good, but after reading about the saffron granola that Mira Manek had created, I changed my order.

  2. Checkin at Novelty Automation
    1. Edit

After breakfast, we headed to Novelty Automation, a penny arcade filled with arty animatronic games.

    2. Edit

We cashed in some pennies for tokens and it was time to start playing.

We then had our photos taken in The Expressive Photobooth which promised to be "no oridinary photobooth" and capture our true personality.

Then Tom challenged me to a game of Divorce where we each had to spin a lever to pull a house towards us and then, when our character saw red, press a button to win the fight.

Next to this was Tom's least favourite machine where you had to "Test Your Nerve" by putting your hand in a cage with a scary dog to push a button.

It was snarling while dribbling warm goo from the mouth and Tom walked away with a soggy hand.

      Next was the hydron-collider...

I had the Valley Of Silence which was served in a metal bowl so heavy that it was hard to drink with one hand. The cocktail was made from gin, sake, egg and vanilla mirin which gave it the taste of milk and rice, without including any dairy.

    3. Edit

Tom ordered Above The Horizon with vodka, Roots Mastiha liqueur, arnica & pine oil and lemon balm soda. It reminded me of an alcoholic iced tea.

  4. Checkin at RedFarm
  5. Checkin at Seven Stars
    1. Edit

Afterwards we went for a drink at The Seven Stars, a quirky little pub behind the Royal Courts Of Justice, where the judges like to drink.
