      We started our morning with a walk through the Bloemenmarkt so we could pick up some tulips. They had every colour imaginable but my favourite were the multicoloured rainbow variety.

      I treated myself to a tin of tulips to grow at home and a squished penny with a pair of clogs on.

      We were starting to feel peckish so Phil suggested poffertjes from the Lunchroom Downtown cafe, which him and Katie had visited before.

      Poffertjes are mini fluffy pancakes dusted with icing sugar and they were delicious.

      In the evening, we went for dinner at 't Blaauwhooft, a traditional pub in the square next to our apartment.
