  1. Checkin at Trinity Buoy Wharf
    1. Edit

We headed down to Trinity Buoy Wharf to explore this morning.

    2. Edit

There was a phone box that started ringing as we approached it. It was an interactive art piece which asked how we were feeling and asked us to press the numbers accordingly.

    3. Edit

The installation was set up to raise awareness of suicide in men and gave us a password to mention in the diner for a free cup of tea.

  2. Checkin at Orchard Cafe
    1. Edit

We started off with breakfast at the Orchard Cafe, which is inside a container box with a taxi parked on top.

    2. Edit

I tucked into bircher muesli and a cinnamon swirl.

  3. Checkin at Longplayer
    1. Edit

Afterwards we visited the Longplayer in Bow Creek Lighthouse.

    3. Edit

The Longplayer is an installation of Tibetan singing bowls in the old lamp room designed to play a composition that won't repeat for 1,000 years.

There was a listening room set up with chairs upstairs in the lighthouse and the view from the top was amazing.

The ferry drivers were excited to see a Figaro and pointed out that if I stood at the bag of the boat, I could get an amazing photo with the whole of London in the background.

  5. Checkin at Thamesmead
    1. Edit

When we got to the south of the river, we took a drive through Thamesmead.

    3. Edit

A lot of the buildings were derelict as they're about to be demolished for the arrival of Cross-rail.

    4. Edit

Thamesmead was the filiming location for Misfits, and you could still see the old boathouse where they did their community service.

  6. Checkin at Thames Barrier Information Centre
    1. Edit

We stopped of at the Thames Barrier on our drive back into London.

    2. Edit

There was a semi-sunken cruise ship parked just along from the visitor centre which looked hauntingly out of place.

It's called the Royal Iris and was once a nightclub but has been parked up waiting for refurbishment for years and years.

  7. Checkin at Four Hundred Rabbits
    1. Edit

We then headed to Nunhead for dinner at Four Hundred Rabbits, a pizzeria where they love fermenting.

    2. Edit

I loved the pretty pastel pink and green decor.

I had a cocktail and we shared the sourdough garlic bread with anchovies and rosemary to start.

    5. Edit

Tom ordered a pizza with tomato, mozzarella and basil while I tucked into one with radish, courgettes, pumpkin seeds and basil pistou.

It was delicious but so filling that we ended up taking almost a whole pizza home.
