It was my birthday today and as a special surprise, Tom had booked us tickets to the SpiceUp exhibition.
It was held at the Business Design Centre up in Angel,
The start of the exhibition was filled with all the famous outfits, dresses and costumes the band had worn in their music videos and performances.
If was easy to see from afar which outfit belonged to which Spice Girl, with Mel B's animal prints, Mel C's sportswear and Victoria's designer dresses.
I think Geri had the coolest wardrobe, though they didn't have her famous Union Jack dress because she had gifted it to a fan.
Baby Spice had some cute clothes too, including this cosy coat I would totally wear.
The shoes were so high, especially Emma's platforms.
The second half of the exhibition was dedicated to Spice Girls merchandise.
It was like a fun game spotting which ones I'd had when I was little, such as the Impulse perfume, can of lollipops and SpiceCam which I'd found in Omaha for $3.
The Spice Bus from the Spice World movie was parked outside.
After the exhibition, Tom had booked us a Spice Girls afternoon tea in the adjoining hotel.
We sipped tea while tucking into our sandwiches.
Next we had scones with clotted cream and jam.
It was then time for desserts, which were all themed after different Spice Girls. One of the tables nearby asked the waiter to explain which cake was for which girl, but he was too young to know the band which was pretty depressing.
There was a ginger cake topped with a Union Jack for Geri, a "scary" chocolate tart sprinkled with chilli for Mel B, a posh cream cake for Victoria, a football field brownie and macaron football for Mel C and a baby bottle cookie for Emma.
Tom asked what I'd like to do next, and I didn't feel like my birthday would be complete without seeing some animals.
We headed to Kensington Park Gardens to see the ducks, squirrels and parakeets.
We got some vegan Chinese takeaway from Archway on our way home and then Tom surpirsed me with biccies from Cutter & Squidge for my birthday cake.
