  1. Checkin at my neighbours the dumplings
    1. Edit

We headed up to Clapton this evening for dinner at My neighbours the dumplings, somewhere I had been really keen to try since reading the name.

    2. Edit

It was a gorgeous restaurant with gold leaf walls and colourful lanterns.

We started with cocktails. Tom had the Kokoro Plumble with gin, jasmine tea syrup and plum wine, while I had a Madam Butterfly with sake, shochu, lychee liqueur, chilli and lemon.

    5. Edit

We started our meal by sharing the Crispy Prawn Won Tons and Steamed Scallop which was served in it's shell with glass noodles.

    6. Edit

We then ordered some dumplings including the Prawn Har Gau and Courgette & Wood ear mushroom crispy fried "potstickers".

We had some chocolate dumplings for dessert, served with ice cream and salted caramel.

  2. Checkin at The Elephants Head
    1. Edit

As we were up in Ola's neck of the woods, we met up with him for a drink at The Elephants Head afterwards.

    2. Edit

It was an amazing looking pub with a stained glass skylight and distressed walls.

I ordered a tasty old fashioned.

Old told me that I should head downstairs and check out how cool the toilets were and that I would want to take my camera with me.
