There was a giant supermarket and restaurant over the street serving vegetarian dishes from across India. We treated ourselves to a box of gorgeous looking sweets covered in gold and silver leaf.

Afterwards we drove down to Merton Abbey Mills, an ex-riverside mill filled with cool little shops and restaurants.

  9. Checkin at ROCK STAR SUSHI BAR
    1. Edit

Tom had been excited to try Rock Star Sushi Bar and we were lucky enough to get a booking because there are only a handful of tables and it's only open on the weekend.

    3. Edit

We sat outside in the sunshine and ordered a small bottle of sparkling Sake which was really sweet and delicious.

    4. Edit

We started by ordering the Smoked Salmon Uramaki which is the only sushi dish to have won a Good Food Award.

    5. Edit

It was topped with passionfruit sauce, sesame seeds and edible flowers which looked gorgeous.

    6. Edit

Next we ordered the Sweet Potato, Shiitake & Truffle Uramaki topped with torched miso and nuts, and the Kampachi Rock & Roll, a fish that's only served in two UK restaurants because you need a special certificate.

The sushi came served with fresh wasabi, which is really rare because it's so expensive and you could grate it fresh at the table.
