  1. Checkin at Manzes Pie and Mash
    1. Edit

We took Mum & Dad out for a proper London adventure this morning starting at M Manze in Bermondsey.

    3. Edit

M Manze opened in 1892 and is the oldest surviving pie shop in London.

    4. Edit

I loved the vintage tiles and marble booths. The waitresses were proper cockneys and called us honeybunnies.

    5. Edit

Dad tried jellied eel and liquor which was a runny soup made from parsley.

    6. Edit

Mum and I shared vegetarian pie and mash topped with vegan gravy.

  2. Checkin at Hawkes Cidery & Taproom
    1. Edit

We headed down to the Bermondsey Beer Mile afterwards and went for a drink at Hawkes Cidery & Taproom.

    2. Edit

Mum and I shared a cider flight which worked well because she preffered the dry ciders whereas I liked the sweet ones.

    3. Edit

There was an adorable little pug outside the bar.

  3. Checkin at Maltby St. Market
    1. Edit

We took a walk through Maltby Street Market afterwards to see all the food vendors.

I treated everyone to mini canelle from Babelle and they were delicious.

  4. Checkin at Bad Brownie
    1. Edit

We then got some brownies from Bad Brownie to take away.

    2. Edit

Their salted caramel brownie was voted the best in London, so we tried that and the peanut butter brownie.

  5. Checkin at Megabus, London
    1. Edit

And then, sparing no expense, we treated my parents to a £1 MegaBus tour of London.

    2. Edit

They'd cut the top off their old coaches and the tour was really good, lasting two hours and making it's way all over central London.

  6. Checkin at Leake Street Tunnel
    1. Edit

After the tour, we wandered through Leake Street Tunnel so that Mum & Dad could see the street art.

  7. Checkin at Scootercaffe
    1. Edit

We then perked up with espresso martinis and cocktails at Scootercaffe.

  8. Checkin at Okan
    1. Edit

Tom decided he wanted to go see Placebo at the Southbank Festival, so I took Mum & Dad for dinner at Okan.

    2. Edit

We tucked into tasty okonomiyaki with cheese and sweetcorn and then had sorbet for dessert.

    3. Edit

I had elderflower sorbet, while Dad had a creamy one and Mum had matcha. Dad got so cold while eating his that he had to put on his emergency jacket.

  9. Checkin at Westminster Bridge
    1. Edit

On our way home, I found a squished penny on Westminster Bridge which has a picture of Tower Bridge but says London Bridge underneath. I love how wonky and wrong it is. I think the inaccurate or controversial pennies are my favourites.
