    1. Edit

It's been ages since we had any time off work but today was the first of our one week holiday, so we went all out and treated ourselves to breakfast at Duck & Waffle.

Duck & Waffle is located on the 40th floor of Heron Tower with a terrifying, ear-popping glass elevator which whisks you to the top.

I ordered the Smoked Salmon Royale served on a waffle with horseradish and chives.

Tom had the Duck Egg En Cocotte with mushrooms, truffles and gruyère cheese served in a little frying pan with a side of soldiers to dip.

The restaurant is open 24 hours, so I'd love to come back for sunrise one morning.

Afterwards we made our way up to Spitalfields where we had booked haircuts at Taylor Taylor.

  4. Checkin at Dub Dub and Away Limited

It was then time to head down to Dub Dub & Away in East Dulwich to pick up Poppy, a 1970s VW Campervan which would be our home for the next seven days.

Tom had packed his laptop just incase there were any work emergencies and we had only got as far as the services at Slough before we had to pull over so he could take a call.

Luckily the van made a super cosy office and we still managed to make it to Manchester just before Lotus Kitchen closed so we could get some vegan Chinese food.
