  1. Checkin at Glenfinnan Viaduct

      It was lovely when we woke up, so we decided to head up to Glenfinnan Viaduct to see if we could catch sight of the earlier Jacobite train crossing.

      Tom cooked Quorn sausage rolls for breakfast while on Poppy's stove we waited.

      The viaduct is in the middle of a deer sanctuary and I spotted this stag lazing in the shade.

      We found the perfect viewpoint from the hillside and sat and waited for the train.

      Right on schedule, the steam train came around the side of the mountain and crossed over the viaduct, tooting as he passed us waving from the hillside.

  2. Checkin at Fort William, Highland

      It was then time to head back to Fort William to catch The Jacobite.

      On board our seats had a Harry Potter moquette and I was sat next to two adorable dogs.

      The view was so pretty and I kept spotting seals along the shore.

      We headed into the vestibule so we could stick our heads out of the window as we passed over the viaduct.

  4. Checkin at Glenfinnan Railway Station & Museum

      The train then stopped at Glenfinnan Railway Station giving us a few minutes to hop off and take a look around.

      There was a mini railway museum which only cost 50p to have a look around.

  5. Checkin at The Jacobite Train

      Back on the Jacobite, we made our way to the buffet carriage which was almost empty and a lot more peaceful than the rest of the train.

      Tom ordered a Jacobite whisky while I had a Butter Brew cocktail from their Potions menu.

      We also tucked into some liquorice wands and a chocolate frog.

      The driver announced to look out for Dumbledore Island as we passed, which was used as his final resting place in the Harry Potter films.

  6. Checkin at Mallaig

      Eventually we arrived in Mallaig where we given a couple of hours to explore and grab a bite to eat.

  7. Checkin at The Tea Garden Mallaig

      We ended up at The Tea Garden which had a gorgeous flower covered patio.

      We ordered a pint of Mallaig prawns to share served with a salad in a seashell.

      There was a Harry Potter shop called Haggard Alley hidden down a little alleyway.

    The time went quick and it was soon time to catch The Jacobite back to Fort William.

    We then jumped in Poppy and headed back to Fife for the night so that we'd be ready for the wedding tomorrow.
