It was really snowy today as we made our way down to the Docklands this evening. There was even snow on the very top of Canary Wharf.

We headed to Giant Robot where they have a new transport themed piano which is part tube train, part Taxi and part Routemaster.

We headed up to the roof garden to see if the plants were all covered in snow.

Tom had booked us on a sneak peek behind the hoardings of the new Canary Wharf Crossrail station.

It might not sound like the most romantic date night destination, but Tom was so excited, and we were going for dinner and a movie afterwards.

The most noticable difference were the yellow escalators.

I was hoping to see one of the new purple roundels but they hadn't put any up yet.

Only a third of the station was finished but it's due to open in December, so I'll be interested to see if they complete it in time.

Afterwards we went for dinner at Sticks N Sushi, a Danish sushi fusion restaurant.

We started by ordered some nibbles and drinks. I had a Nipon cocktail with shiso infused shochu, elderflower, lemon and prosecco. Tom had one of the restaurant AFTENBAJER home brews.

We started with the Maguro Tataki which was seared tun with wafu, daikon and black sesame truffle.

Next we tried the shake teriyaki which were teriyaki salmon sticks.

The Ebi Bites were my favourite and were tempura shrimp in a bubbly batter with miso aïoli.

We then ordered the Maki Maki sushi selection.

There was Salmon Ceviche maki, Hell's Kitchen maki with tempura shrimp, avocado, tuna & barbecue sauce, Ebi Panko maki and Shake Aioli maki with snow peas, avocado, cucumber, miso aïoli, seared salmon and trout roe.
