February 24th is Twin Peaks Day so we threw our own Twin Peaks party to celebrate.

  2. Edit

We'd recreated the Red Lodge on our dining table, complete with a Laura Palmer shrine, chevron table cloth painted by Tom and 3D printed Venus sculpture.

I shook up some Damn Fine Espresso Martinis to perk everyone up.

We turned the office into the Double R Diner, complete with hand-stamped napkins, diner neon-sign and chalkboard menu.

  6. Edit

We then cooked up a table full of diner food including mini vegetarian chicken and beef burgers, mac n cheese, mini cherry pies, donuts, fried pickles, popcorn and breakfast stacks made of mini pancakes, Quorn bacon and maple syrup.

Mel had mentioned she liked the corndogs that I'd made at TomFest, so it seemed like the perfect excuse to cook up a huge pile of them. It's lucky I did because Dave said he could eat nine in one go.

  9. Edit

To drink, we'd made a pitcher of Laura Palmer Iced Tea which was an Arnold Palmer with a gin twist, David Lynch Lemonade which was a Lynchburg Lemonade served in a coffee pot and Damn Fine Espresso Martinis.

  10. Edit

I also made Twin Peaks Freakshakes topped with whipped cream, a mini donut, mini cherrie pie, cherries, sprinkles and a piece of Twin Peaks bar.

  11. Edit

I baked a talking chocolate log cake for the occassion.

  12. Edit

We turned the living room into One Eyed Jacks so where we'd play the Twin Peaks board game.

  13. Edit

Tom dressed up in his Agent Cooper outfit while I dressed as a Double R Diner waitress, complete with apron, notepad and pot of coffee for top-ups.

Joe came as Dougie Jones, Sarah as Nadine Hurley and Lynsey as Audrey Horne. I'm not sure if any of our other guests had seen the show.
