      We took a drive out to Essex today and stopped off at Orford Ness on the coast, somewhere Tom had been curious about since spotting it on the TV show Hunted.

      We continued along the coast to Southwold, a pretty little seaside town with a pier and a lighthouse.

      The town is home to Adnams Brewery, so we stopped off to buy a keg.

      They had a special Christmas version of their Ghost Ship ale, so we got a keg for our Christmas party.

      Being at the seaside, we were in the mood for seafood when we spotted a sign for Cromer crab rolls outside Harris & James.

      It was a cute little ice cream parlour inside with a soda fountain, so I got a rose soda to sip on while we shared a crab roll.

      We got some Turkish delight cups to have afterwards and they were delicious.

      We'd heard that you could get some of the best fish & chips in Aldeburgh, so we stopped off to get some on the drive home.

      We shared a gigantic fish, some scampi and chips. They were good but not as good as Anstruther.
