Tom and I decided to treat ourselves to an impromptu trip to Paris! This was my fourth visit to the city and each time I’ve been, it’s been November or December, which I hear is the best time to go.

  2. Checkin at St Pancras
    1. Edit

We got up early on Monday morning and headed to St Pancras.

  3. Facebook Checkin at Eurostar at 15 Nov 09:10
    1. Edit

We had a quick breakfast and then jumped on the @[110718776425:Eurostar].

  4. Checkin at Gare Du Nord
    1. Edit

Two hours later we arrived at the equally decadent station Gare Do Nord.

  5. Checkin at Hotel Clauzel
    1. Edit

We stayed at Hotel Clauzel in Montmarte.

It had the tiniest elevator I’ve ever seen… we just managed to squeeze in with all of our bags. Our room was very lilac but had a really nice view.

  6. Checkin at Opéra Bastille
    1. Edit

After dropping off our bags we headed down to Opera where there was a cute cat busking for money.

It was then time to get reacquainted with the Metro, yay for Carnet tickets (not as good as the Oyster). I wish they’d get this stop light system on the London Undergound, it’s so handy!

  9. Edit

We stopped to admire the cakes in the patisseries. There were so many amazing meringues, macaroons and cakes.

  10. Checkin at Cimetière Du Père Lachaise
    1. Edit

We headed to Pere Lechase which is the prettiest graveyard I’ve ever seen and the “world’s most visited” apparently.

I printed a map before we left, which saved us a few Euros and meant we could snoop around quickly. It was lucky that I had because it was huge and would have taken hours to look around. There were even street signs to tell you where you were.

    4. Edit

One of the famous residents is @[272366992571:Jim Morrison]. He had his own security guard and two girls crying at his grave.

    5. Edit

I think Pere Lechase is an even better graveyard than Highgate. It even had crows to give it a super eerie feel.

We went to see @[12869041819:Oscar Wilde’s] grave, which was all covered in kisses before we left and headed back in to the city.

Paris has a thing for @[106055762768210:carousels] and so do I!

  12. Checkin at Tour Montparnasse
    1. Edit

We then went up Montparnasse tower, which is the tallest building in Paris. Parisians think it’s an eyesore, so on top of it is the best place to be.

The view was amazing. We took miniature photos of the city (look at the mini cranes) and tried to squish the @[14067072198:Eiffel Tower].

    4. Edit

We went up the tower just before sunset, so we got to see the city light up!

    6. Edit

It started raining really heavily, so we sheltered in the tower and I got a squished penny for my collection.

    7. Edit

For fifteen minutes at the start of every hour, the Eiffel Tower has a light show and goes all twinkly. We stayed to watch it before heading off in to the night.

  13. Edit

We had my favourite French cuisine, savoury crepes from the Latin Quarter for dinner. The man cooks them fresh in front of you and they’re so delicious.

  14. Edit

I went for the Complete Ouef which is egg, cheese and mushrooms. They’re really thick compared to the crepes you get in Britain and I want to try making some of my own at home.

  15. Edit

We went for a walk along the Seine. It looks so pretty at night.

  16. Checkin at Place du Concorde
    1. Edit

By the time we got to Place de la Concorde we were pretty worn out so decided to head back to the hotel, as we have a very busy day tomorrow.

  17. Edit

We stopped by the bon marche and patisserie to pick up a bed picnic (I love food shopping in foreign countries). We got two huge meringues (I’m not sure how many people one is suppose to feed but we were defeated after a few bites), creme brulle chocolate, bugles, pistachio cookies and beer (which is the same price as any other drink).
