  1. Checkin at Kennington
    1. Edit

It was a lovely sunny day in London today, so we headed out to explore, starting in Kennington.

  2. Checkin at Sugar Pot
    1. Edit

We had breakfast at a cute little local cafe called the Sugar Pot.

    2. Edit

I was happy to see that they did actually have sugar pots on the tables to go with their name.

Tom had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich washed down with cold brew, while I had a super tasty bowl of granola and iced coffee.

  3. Checkin at Embankment tube station
    1. Edit

Tom's been telling me about a secret tunnel he discovered at Embankment Station that's always deserted during rush hour.

    2. Edit

It was just as quiet as he had said and there was cool tube artwork along the tunnel, so it was like a secret underground art gallery.

  4. Checkin at John Lewis Oxford Street
    1. Edit

There was a pop-up Mos Eisley Cantina at John Lewis to celebrate the new movie, so we stopped in to check it out.

    2. Edit

It looked cool but I was a little dissapointed that they weren't playing the catchy tune.

  5. Checkin at Uniqlo
    1. Edit

Tom had been invited to a party on the rooftop of Uniqlo to celebrate Uniqlo Japan Day.

    2. Edit

We were handed four free drinks tokens each when we walked in and made our way to the bar to try out lots of different cocktails including an umeshu cocktail and Golden Gai inspired punch.

The view from the roof was amazing and we tucked into shave ice while watching Japanese bands perform.

  6. Checkin at Selfridges
    1. Edit

Feeling a little tipsy after four cocktails, we had enough Dutch courage to face the crowds in Selfridges so popped in for a look around.

    2. Edit

There's a little museum about the store on the top floor and I was excited to see Mr Selfridge's hat because I'd been watching the TV series about him.

We then headed to the toy department but even the kids have cars way fancier than we could afford.

    5. Edit

I cuddles a super fluffy unicorn to make myself feel better.

Finally we headed to the food court where we discovered that Selfridges have their own fancy Krispy Kreme donuts, "hand-finished" in the store.

  7. Checkin at Brown Hart Gardens
    1. Edit

We sat in the peaceful Brown Hart Gardens to eat our donuts though we only managed a couple of bites each.

    2. Edit

I enjoyed watching the pigeons taking baths and playing in the fountains.

  8. Checkin at Kulu Kulu Sushi
    1. Edit

Though the shops had closed, we went window shopping in Mayfair.

    2. Edit

Intrigued by the conveyor belt and cheap prices, we went for dinner at Kulu Kulu Sushi in Soho.

It was really good and I'd definitely pop in for cheap sushi the next time I'm in Soho at lunchtime.
