We were hoping to head up to Edinburgh for Hogmanay this year but we left it a bit too late to book the train and it ended up being cheaper for people to come here, so Katie & Phil surprised us with a visit.

I'd went into instant party planning mood as soon as they said they were coming last night, and set up a clock inspired table with glow stick place settings.

For the centrepiece, I'd made a macaron clocktower.

We also made way too much food including Cheese & Mustard and BBQ Nacho sausage rolls.

It was also a chance to give Katie & Phil their Christmas presents but Phil didn't look too pleased with the mug that Tom had picked for him.

We had so much fun making headbands to wear at midnight that I think it might become a new NYE tradition.

We popped a bottle of fizz at midnight and headed upstairs to watch the fireworks.

It was the perfect end to such a fun year and I can't wait for the adventures that 2018 will bring!
