  1. Checkin at Columbia Road Flower Market
    1. Edit

I've been wanting to go to Columbia Road Flower Market for a while and finally got the chance this Sunday.

    2. Edit

The market was so busy and we had to squeeze our way through while shop sellers shouted things out like "2 for £10", "get your tulips" and "last of the summer herbs, won't be here next week" in Cockney accents.

Tom treated me to a bouquet of winter flowers and six "loverly" roses.

  2. Edit

Behind the hustle and bustle of the stalls, Columbia Road had some gorgeous shops that I'd love to come back and check out when it's not a market day.

  4. Checkin at Colbert Studio
    1. Edit

Colbert Studio looked far too interesting to miss, so I popped in to take a look.

    2. Edit

The whole shop was covered in shiny metallic wrapping and lit with neon lights.

    3. Edit

There were some awesome ceramics for sale too including this skull made of cigarettes.

  5. Checkin at Lily Vanilli
    1. Edit

I've got a couple of Lily Vanilli's amazing cookbooks and couldn't wait to try out her bakery.

    2. Edit

It was so pretty inside with pink walls, plants, fairy lights and a gorgeous Vanilli marquee sign.

    3. Edit

There were so many delicious things to choose from but we went for veggie sausage rolls and a peanut brittle chocolate tart.

  6. Edit

We wandered down to Shoreditch afterwards, admiring the street art, leftover pumpkins and interesting shop signs as we walked.

  8. Checkin at The Cocktail Trading Co.
    1. Edit

We stopped off for cocktails at The Cocktail Trading which had pistol door handles.

We ordered some pickles to munch on while we browsed the interesting cocktail menu.

    4. Edit

I ordered the Grasshopper, a frothy green Nitro cocktail which our waiter served at the table. It was delicious with Belvedere, rosehip & hop sherbet, bear pea & mint puree and egg whites.

Tom had the Jupiter Cocktail which was served in a bowl on a steampunk holder with a "chocolate moon" spinning around it, complete with American flag. The drink was made from vodka, orange juice, martini, and apricot-ginger brew.

  9. Checkin at Moorgate
    1. Edit

Though Moorgate Station seems to be in desperate need of a paint, the peeling adverts sometimes look like modern art.

  10. Edit

I arranged my flowers in a vase when we got home and the fluffy little reason why we can't have nice things came to check them out.

  11. Edit

Luckily there was only one spiky plant she was interested in, so when I removed that, she left them alone.

  12. Edit

It was Bon Fire Night, so we had dinner upstairs and watched the fireworks across London from our window.
