We went for brunch at The Lido Cafe in Brockwell Park this morning.
Though it was a little chilly outside, people were still happily swimming away and drinking poolside.
We decided to keep warm inside and sip on Bloody Marys.
Tom had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and I had the huevos rancheros with poached eggs, salsa, avocado and corn tortillas.
Tom had heard that there was a miniature train we could catch from the lido to the gates of the park, but when we saw that it was just for kids, decided we better just stick on foot.
While on foot, we discovered the lost River Effra and a Victorian stink pipe.
A stink pipe is a really tall pipe built to release stinky dangerous gases from London's sewer system below.
We went for a wander around Herne Hill afterwards, walking through the farmers market and stopping off at the pretty little Herne Hill Books.
We popped into The Parlour for an iced coffee and tasty chocolate brownie.
Afterwards, we went to the Canopy Beer Company, who have a distillery in one of the railway arches.
