  1. Checkin at Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacre Coeur
    1. Edit

It was our last day in Paris, so we decided to have breakfast out on our balcony.

    2. Edit

Tom brought back coffee and pastries from Le Grenier a Pain including some madeleines which were on my to-eat list.

    4. Edit

It was the perfect opportunity to try out the rose gold iPad and Pencil that Tom had got me for my birthday by drawing the Parisian arcitecure across the road.

  2. Checkin at Arts et Métiers
    1. Edit

After breakfast, we headed out to explore and our first stop was Arts et Métiers metro station.

    2. Edit

The station has a steampunk design inspired by Jules Verne with copper walls, rivets and giant cogs coming down from the the ceiling.

    4. Edit

There were really cool submarine windows with little dioramas inside along the platforms.

  3. Checkin at Destruction Des Animaux Nuisibles
    1. Edit

We then caught the Metro to Chatelet where we spotted Destruction Des Animaux Nuisibles, the pest control store featured in the movie, Ratatouille.

    2. Edit

The windows were pretty gruesome featuring some of their catches with taxidermy rats, mice and butterflies.

  4. Checkin at Place Louis Lépine
    1. Edit

We then walked across the Seine to Cité to visit the Paris bird market.

    2. Edit

The bird market is part of the flower market that takes place on Place Louis Lépine every Sunday.

  5. Checkin at Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris
    1. Edit

Nearby was Notre-Dame and the square in front is always filled with tourists.

  6. Checkin at Point zéro des routes de France
    1. Edit

We followed the lines in the pavement to Paris Point Zero so that we could stand in the very middle of Paris.

  7. Checkin at Shakespeare and Company
    1. Edit

We crossed over to the south bank and popped into Shakespeare and Company, an amazing bookshop filled with lots of little reading nooks and cosy corners.

    2. Edit

I was hoping to spot their famous cat and found him asleep on the window sill.

  8. Checkin at Quartier Latin
    1. Edit

We were starting to feel peckish so we headed to the Latin Quarter in search of crepes.

    2. Edit

After Montmartre, the Latin Quarter is my favourite area of Paris with it's cobbled streets and pretty buildings.

    3. Edit

We spotted a Salvador Dali sundial on the side of one of the buildings.

  9. Checkin at Les Galandines
    1. Edit

We ended up at Les Galandines where we took a seat in the back and ordered some wine.

    2. Edit

I had a crepe with mushrooms, cheese and potato while Tom went for brie with caramelised onions.

  10. Checkin at Maison Larnicol
    1. Edit

For dessert, we popped into Maison Larnicol to try a kouignette.

    3. Edit

They also had the chocolates I love that look like olives with almonds inside, so got a bag of them to go with my orange kouignette.

  11. Checkin at Paris Sewer Museum
    1. Edit

We then jumped on a bus to the Paris Sewer Museum.

    2. Edit

At Musée des égouts you can wander through the sewers while learning about the history of Paris's waste-removal systems.

    4. Edit

I loved how you could follow the signs for the streets above as you navigated your way around the sewers.

    5. Edit

I was surprised at how fast the Seine rushed through the sewers underneath.

    6. Edit

    7. Edit

I got quite excited at a part you could see actual sewage floating through the water below. Though it was mainly leaves and litter.

    8. Edit

Tom had an Indiana Jones moment with a giant unclogging ball.

  12. Checkin at Café Des Chats Bastille
    1. Edit

We were starting to get pretty tired and couldn't think of anywhere better to relax for a few hours than Café Des Chats in Bastille.

    2. Edit

One of the cats had fallen asleep against the window and it's head was all squished against the glass.

    3. Edit

      Gallery

    4. Edit

What I loved about this place was rather than a cat cafe where you pay to see the cats, it's just a cafe with cats and you can order as much or as little as you like, just paying for your food and drinks.

    5. Edit

      Gallery

    6. Edit

The walls were also covered in cat art, so there was so much to look at.

    7. Edit

I ordered a lemonade with violet syrup and it was such a pretty colour.

    8. Edit

The cats were adorable and even though most of them were just snoozing away, a few were getting quite scampy while playing and jumping between the tables.

    9. Edit

  13. Checkin at Ground Control
    1. Edit

Our final stop was Ground Control, a street food market based in an old railway yard behind Gare de Lyon.

    2. Edit

      Gallery

    3. Edit

Lots of old buses had been converted into food trucks and you could sit inside and have a bite to eat.

    4. Edit

We decided to sit outside on old tram seats and enjoy a drink in the sun.

  14. Checkin at Paris Gare du Nord
    1. Edit

It was then time to head to Gare du Nord to catch the Eurostar back to London. I hope we'll be back in Paris soon!
