Inspired by our road-trip to Surrey yesterday, we decided to explore Kent today.
Though the Isle Of Sheppey sounds like it should be up in Scotland, it's actually in the middle of the Thames accessible by a long swooping bridge.
Our first stop was Sheerness, the main town on the island, which reminded me of a little town in Fife.
We headed down to the shoreline where you can see the shipwreck of SS Richard Montgomery just off the shoreline. It's packed with explosives from WWII and too dangerous to move, so nobody is quite sure what to do with it.
We then drove along the coast to Leysdown-on-Sea where the UK's first aircraft factory was built by the Short Brothers.
We thought it would be a giggle to drive along Ha Ha Road but with a two car crash, an ambulance and two police cars, it wasn't so funny after all.
We stopped off at Theo's Pizzeria in Camberwell on the way home for dinner.
We shared an anchovy pizza topped with capers, olives and mozzarella.
