Search Press invited us to their launch for David Bellamy's new book, Arctic Light.

The launch was downstairs in Stanfords bookstore, famous for their travel maps and globes.

David read a few chapters from the book, telling us about how he kept his paint from freezing using gin, watching polar bears rolling in the snow and the near missing he experienced when dog sledding over gaps in the glaciers.

While walking along Old Compton Street, Tom told me to look down a grate in the middle of the street.

The remains of Little Compton Street were still visible through the gaps.

Afterwards we met Jenny for dinner at Yo Sushi on Bond Street.

Jenny wore her sushi conveyor belt necklace.

I was excited to try some of the new dishes, especially the okonomiyaki which was pretty good.

Rin joined us later and we finally got to give him the Hippos Make Me Happy t-shirt we got him for his birthday.

We went for cocktails at La Bodega Negra afterwards.

I had a spiced pear margarita.
