Phil loves German beer so we took him to one of our new locals, The Zeitgeist inside The Jolly Gardener.

They serve German food and have eight different German beers on taps which the boys were really excited about.

I ordered a Pimms which came served in a giant glass filled with fruit.

We had only just remembered that there was going to be a flyover for the Queen's birthday when we arrived at the embankment to see the Red Arrows flying over Westminster.

Phil thought it looked like a tube of Aquafresh toothpaste flying through the sky.

We then headed to Tamesis Dock for a drink on the boat.

It was a little too hot to sit out on the deck, so we headed downstairs where they had deck chairs looking out over the Thames.

They also had a swinging egg chair which made Phil look like a curled up hedgehog when he sat inside.

We stopped off to pick up some lunch from Sally White in Kennington.

We tucked into a tasty vegetarian Scotch egg and salmon salad.

In the evening, we met up with Phil, Mel, Dave and Mike & Lisa (who I haven't seen since high school) at the Duke Of Sussex in Waterloo.

We were sat outside and there was duck which made everyone very excited.

Afterwards we headed back to the Zeitgeist to have some German food for dinner.

I had the Flammkuchen topped with mushrooms and spring onions. It was a bit like a really thin pizza.

We then headed back to Tamesis Dock just in time for sunset.
