      It was almost too hot to leave the house today but I couldn't resist checking out our new neighbourhood.

      Kennington has a really pretty rainbow high street dotted with cafes, restaurants and a bookstore.

      I'm less surprised that Charlie Chaplin went to school at our place after spotting a couple of houses with plaques where he used to live nearby.

      We're still waiting for the internet to arrive at our place, so I was looking for somewhere good to work when I found Vanilla Black.

      It was a gorgeous little bookstore and cafe serving iced coffee with a little garden at the back.

      I hadn't planned on getting anything to eat until I spotted their selection of cronuts and had to try this pistachio one.

      I took advantage of the free WIFI and then browsed through the cookbooks for dinner inspiration before heading to the supermarket to pick up supplies.

      On my way home, I stumbled upon an art gallery called Space Station Sixty-Five, hidden in an alley behind our house. With a name like that, I knew I had to check it out.

      The current exhibition was named Only The World Remains by Bridgette Ashton and Nicole Mollett.

      I loved this seaside souvenir made from a shell. I'd love to try making my own on my next trip to the beach.

    Tom's been hearing me moan about our old blender for ages, so he stopped off on his way home to pick up this 50's style blender from Smeg to surprise me with. I love the colour and it looks perfect in our new kitchen.

    I couldn't wait to try it out, so I made beetroot pesto spaghetti for dinner which turned out bright pink. Barbie would have approved.
