  1. Checkin at Bob Bob Ricard
    1. Edit

We decided to treat ourselves to after work drinks and dessert at Bob Bob Ricard.

    2. Edit

Looking grand and art deco on a corner in Soho, waiters in pink waistcoats usher you through a luxurious green and gold dining room to train-style booths complete with Press For Champagne buttons.

Our waiter pointed out individual lights for each booth behind the bar and we could see our table number appear when I pushed the button.

We ordered some pink champagne to toast Tom’s second day of work and he felt like we were sitting on the Orient Express while we waiting for our desserts.

    6. Edit

I ordered the Chocolate Glory, a chocolate mousse served in a gold chocolate shell which melts in front of your eyes as the waiter pours hot chocolate syrup onto it.

It was delicious and topped with squares of brownie, berries and passionfruit jelly.

Tom tried the Chocolate Fondant which oozed warm chocolate as he sliced into it.

  2. Checkin at Camden Locks Canalside
    1. Edit

Full of bubbles and chocolate, we jumped on a bus to Camden. It was a gorgeous sunny evening so everyone was drinking along the canal.

  3. Checkin at Hawley Arms
    1. Edit

We headed to The Hawley Arms to meet Holly. She’d asked me to recommend a place and I couldn’t resist taking her somewhere that matched her blog name, Hanging With Hawlie.

    2. Edit

Holly’s been flown over from Austin for work and will be in London for the next five weeks, giving us plenty of time to hang out.

    3. Edit

The Hawley was one of our favourite drinking spots from our first stint in London and I’ve missed being able to order a pint of sweets with your drink.

  4. Checkin at Ladies and Gentlemen
    1. Edit

We headed up the road to Kentish Town afterwards for drinks at Ladies & Gentlemen, an old public toilet which has been converted into a bar underneath Kentish Town.

The bar has a cosy candle-lit speakeasy feel and still has some original cisterns and urinals on the wall.

I tried the Casual Fizz cocktail with apricot, sherry, tarragon, bitters and frothy egg white and then the She's On Fire with mezcal, agave and sage. They were delicious!
