We were up early for a trip to London this morning so perked ourselves up with coffee at Nomad Cafe.

Right next to Haymarket Station, it's the perfect place to grab a quick coffee and pastry before catching a train.

We then caught our train to Kings Cross, arriving just before three.

We stopped off for lunch at Pizza East, which I'd heard lots of good things about.

We shared a pizza with white anchovies, capers and cream. I sourdough crust was one of the best I've tasted in ages.

We took a look around Boxpark over the road afterwards, a mini shopping mall in container crates.

I loved these animal plant pots from ColourStory. The cat looks just like Bobbin.

Claire had recommended Dum Dum Doughnuts to us, so we couldn't wait to try them out.

Tom had a pink pisatachio donut while I tried a Nutella cronut. It was delicious and well worth the hipster hype.

We met up with Joe and Sarah when they finished work and they took us to Draft House on Old Street.

They served beer tasting planks and you could try three different third pints.

Tom and I shared The Vegi New Yorker and some sweet potato fries.

Jenny & Rin came and joined us a little later on.

We headed to the Shoreditch Grind which is a coffee shop during the day and cocktail bar at night.

Jenny had an espresso martini while I had a clover club.

We'd heard amazing things about Nightjar, a cocktail bar with a two week waiting list but decided to try our luck and go anyway.

We got in and were escorted down into a candle-lit bar with live jazz.

The cocktail menu was amazing and it was so hard to pick but I ended up with the Moulin Rouge which came with a ylang ylang perfumed ribbon and candied flower.
