There's no shortage of coffee shops in Morningside but Roundsquare Coffee House had just opened and I really like it.

Tom thought if felt just like an Old Street coffee shop in London with it's subway tile walls and big open space.

Afterwards we met up with Katie & Phil for lunch at La Petite Mort, a new restaurant in the back at Bennet's Bar.

Katie had been on a mini shopping spree at the antique shop across the road and couldn't wait to show off her finds. She'd even got me my very own scorpion cast in resin, who I named Steve.

For lunch, I had the open roast veg pie which was served with artichokes and pea puree, while Tom had seared lemon sole.

For dessert, I tried the Passionfruit Bavarois which looked amazing meringue spikes and elderflower jelly. Tom had a Dark chocolate delice with white Russian cream.

  3. Checkin at Bennets Bar
    1. Edit

Next door in Bennets Bar, we were lucky enough to get the secret booth.

They've started serving gin flights so Katie and I ordered one each so that we could try the different gins.
