  1. Checkin at The Tube Diner
    1. Edit

There's a really awesome diner in airstream trailers at Paintworks called Tube Diner.

    2. Edit

I treated myself to lunch there today while Tom was at work.

    3. Edit

I had a super yummy and filling veggie burger wrapped in a pita.

    4. Edit

I loved this chandelier made from old milk bottles.

  2. Edit

We headed out into the city in the evening and I'd been doing my homework on Bristol's hidden speakeasy bars.

  3. Checkin at Red Light
    1. Edit

Our first stop was Red Light which was you can find by hunting for a red-lit doorway covered in graffiti up a side alley.

You then pick up the phone and a waitress comes up to the door and escorts you down into a cosy candle-lit cavern.

Tom had the French Quarter cocktail with bourbon, ginger and campari while I had the Stockholm Syndrome because I liked the name and it was mixed with sesame oil.

  4. Edit

We then made our way up College Green and stopped off to walk up and down There And Back Again Lane.

  5. Checkin at Hyde and Co
    1. Edit

Hyde & Co was hidden up another side alley, this time only given away by a sign with a hat on it. We timidly knocked on the door and asked if we were in the right place.

    2. Edit

It was equally as dark and candle-lit inside as Red Light but with a slightly more private detective feel.

I had a Rosy Lass with gin, egg white, liqueur syrup while Tom had the What's Up Duck? cocktail because of it's name!

  6. Checkin at Zero Degrees Micro Brewery
    1. Edit

We then stopped off for dinner at Zerodegrees, a pizza restaurant and microbrewery.

    2. Edit

The pizza was delicious. Tom ordered me a beer cocktail dusted with hops which I couldn't work out if I liked or not.

  7. Checkin at Christmas Steps Arts Quarter
    1. Edit

We made our way down the Christmas Steps afterwards which are all fairy lit and I think are one of the prettiest places in Bristol.

  8. Checkin at The MilkThistle
    1. Edit

Our final stop was The MilkThistle which was the hardest bar to find of all.

    2. Edit

We walked around the block a few times following the sound of cocktail shakers and eventually had to ask someone.

    3. Edit

Despite the secret location, the bar was packed but we got sat at the bar where the bar tender mixed us up some delicious frothy cocktails.
