We started off with brunch at Riverstation next to the water.

I had mushrooms on toast which was topped with really tasty crispy sage, while Tom had Eggs Royale and a Bloody Mary.

  4. Checkin at M Shed
    1. Edit

We took a walk along the river afterwards and ended up at M Shed.

    3. Edit

M Shed is a museum in an old transit shed on the docks at Prince's Wharf.

    4. Edit

There's a giant hall filled with buses, planes and vintage cars and then there are exhibits upstairs, filled with relics from old Bristol.

They even had a few Banksy originals which was nice to see.

There was a little shopping area called Cargo next to the museum, built out of old containers.

  6. Checkin at Bristol Cider Shop
    1. Edit

We popped into The Bristol Cider shop for a hot cup of mulled cider.

    2. Edit

It was delicious and made the perfect hand warmer as we walked along the shore.

We spotted Rosie and Jim looking out of the window on one of the boats.

We then took the Cross-Harbour Ferry across the river. It only cost 90p and was worth every penny.

We had hoped to go to the Bag Of Nails cat pub but they were closed when we arrived, with the cats starring out of the window. A mini full of puppies drove past us, which was a bit of a consolation prize.

  12. Checkin at Millennium Square, Bristol
    1. Edit

We headed back into town through Millennium Square where there was a huge shiny silver sphere.

  13. Checkin at The Stable, Bristol
    1. Edit

With no cat pub and time to kill before our flight home, we decided to go for another cider sampler at The Stable.

  14. Checkin at The Beer Emporium - Bristol
    1. Edit

All cidered out, Tom fancied going to The Beer Emporium for a beer, which was in a cosy underground cavern.

  15. Checkin at Bertha's Pizza
    1. Edit

Back at Cargo, we headed to Bertha's for some sourdough pizza.

    2. Edit

We ordered the vegetarian sausage pizza with goats cheese and red onion. They'd worked some kind of magic by substituting the meat for barley flavoured with sausage spices and it tasted really convincing.

  16. Checkin at The Apple
    1. Edit

We stopped off for one last cider at The Apple, a floating bar on a barge before heading to the airport to fly home.
