  1. Checkin at Bristol, United Kingdom
    1. Edit

I was flying solo in Bristol again today while Tom was at work in Chippenham.

    2. Edit

I'm getting used to finding my way around now, so did a little shopping in Cabot Circus before heading along Broadmead to admire the graffiti.

  2. Checkin at Tincan Coffee Co
    1. Edit

I popped in to the newly opened Tincan Coffee to catch up on work and got excited when the staff handed me a loyalty card and stamped it with three extra stamps.

Anywhere that serves an iced latte with soya milk in the middle of winter is alright by me!

We'd been invited to spend two nights at Brooks Guesthouse Hotel and when I spotted the trailers on the rooftop, I couldn't wait to check-in.

    1. Edit

If you're a little bored of staying in hotel rooms that look the same, then Brooks Guesthouse Hotel in Bristol does things a little differently.

    2. Edit

Perched on the rooftop of the historic hotel right in the middle of the city, you'll find a secret campground fitted with 16ft, 18ft and 20ft retro rocket trailers.

Fitted with comfy beds, showers, TVs and free wifi, the UK made caravans are the perfect getaway for any urban explorer looking for an adventure equipped with creature comforts.

    5. Edit

Our trailer was so cosy inside, with a giant double bed and TV at one side and a seating area with two booth style seats and a table at the other.

    6. Edit

I wasn't sure how cold it might be at the beginning of January, but our room was kept lovely and warm by a toasty bedside radiator.

Breakfast was served in the guesthouse, which was equally as lovely with windows overlooking the patio, chic decor and an elevator lined with bookcase wallpaper.

Daily specials were listed on a chalkboard and we were encouraged to order hot dishes from the menu and help ourselves to pastries, cereals and fruit juices which were laid out on a long wooden counter.

The panoramic view over the city was my favourite thing, especially early in the morning when you would wake up to see the shopkeepers opening up next door in St Nicholas Market and at sunset when you could watch the buildings light up and come to life.

  5. Checkin at Yurt Lush
    1. Edit

While waiting for Tom's train to arrive from Chippenham, I curled up next to the fire in Yurt Lush with a Marmalade Martini.

  6. Checkin at Flow Bristol
    1. Edit

A graffiti filled underpass in the middle of the city might not be the type of place you'd think to look for scrumptious vegetarian food, but that's exactly where we found Flow hiding away.

    3. Edit

Cosy and candle-lit, Flow Bristol is a vegetarian restaurant promising a diverse range of seasonal and local ingredients for dishes inspired by many cultures.

    4. Edit

There were so many tempting dishes on the winter menu, so we were thankful when the waitress recommended ordering a bunch of them to share.

    5. Edit

We started with the pizza popcorn, olives and quinoa chilli fritters which came topped with crumbly pickled ewes cheese.

    6. Edit

We then shared the mushroom ragu and Homewood Halloumi, swede, red cabbage puree, dukkah, honey + lavender. All of the food was delicious!
