    We headed off to Electric Fields festival this weekend.

      Located in the forests of Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland, Electric Fields is a brand new festival for 2016 offering an intimate and family friendly experience for music lovers, where everyone is welcome.

      Featuring boutique camping, a fairground, gourmet food trucks and a real-ale festival, there's definitely something for everyone with plenty of comfy sofas to relax in if you get tired.

      The line-up was a nice mix of established acts, local bands and fresh new talent, making it easy to catch your favourites on stage, yet offering lots of new bands to discover.

      Sundara Karma from Reading were warming up the Main Stage when we arrived.

      It was then over to the slightly more intimate Stewart's Cruickshank Stage to see Emma Pollock play some Scottish folk.

      The festival offered the perfect selection of indoor and outdoor stages, giving everyone somewhere to hide when the weather turned typically Scottish.

      Luckily, the clouds had parted and the sun had come out, creating a a double rainbow as Public Service Announcement took to the main stage.

      Their set was part light show as they worked their way through a collection of unusual instruments from electronic mixers and banjos to light up UFOs.

      While electronic lovers danced to DJ sets in Sneaky Peaks, indie fans headed over to the Cruickshank Stage to check out Eliza & The Bear.

      The sun was beginning to set at Wild Beasts rocked the Main Stage and the festival lit up.

      With headliners The Charlatans and Primal Scream on the Main Stage, the first night of Electric Fields ended with mid-90's classics that everyone could enjoy.
