  1. Checkin at Montgomery Street Park
    1. Edit

Katie & Phil had a table at a yard sale in Montgomery Street Park, so we decided to pop along to see what we could find.

    2. Edit

I resisted buying another camera for my collection but picked up a massive bucket of beads from Thread & Heather for £15.

  2. Checkin at Word of Mouth Cafe
    1. Edit

Tom took me for breakfast at Word Of Mouth, a cute little Italian cafe afterwards where we sat in the window while watching Leith go by.

    2. Edit

I ordered the Spanakopita and a berry smoothie while Tom tucked into an egg roll with veggie sausages.

  3. Checkin at The Sicilian Pastry Shop
    1. Edit

I'd heard amazing things about the cannoli at The Sicilian Pastry Shop, so we decided to pick some up to take back to Katie & Phil in the park.

    2. Edit

There was a huge queue coming out of the door, so we knew it was going to be good, and we ended up adding more and more cakes to our order as we got closer to the counter.

    3. Edit

We ended up with a box filled with cannoli, truffles and macarons.

Katie had me practise the cat whisker tattoo she wants me to give her with my pen. I think I'll need a few more attempts.

  5. Checkin at Portobello Beach
    1. Edit

We drove along to Portobello Beach afterwards where Tom decided to have a nap while I worked on my knitting.

    2. Edit

Though it was warm enough to sit out, we were much cosier in the car with ice lollies.

  6. Checkin at the pitt
    1. Edit

Someone posted a photo of some nachos they'd got from Spice Girl at a new food truck market called The Pitt in Leith, so we decided to stop off and get some, as it was on the way home.

The nachos were just as delicious as they looked in the photo.

  7. Checkin at Arthur's Seat
    1. Edit

On the drive home, we decided to drive over Arthur's Seat and the weather was so nice that we decided we'd walk to the top.

    2. Edit

Brogues probably weren't the best choice of shoe, but I managed to make my way up the volcanic rocky paths without falling over, so I was quite impressed.

At the top, we were awarded with an amazing panoramic view of the city. It was a little hazy but on a clear day, you must be able to see for miles and miles.

Making our way back down was much faster and lots of fun. I wish we'd brought a sledge.
