I took part in my first craft swap on the CO+K boards this week. Our members have been begging for a swapping system for ages, so I thought I should do my homework and give it a try.

It was even more fun than I'd imagined and I got paired with MischievousRaven to do a swap of goodies for our Filofaxes & planners! Not only did she answer all my silly beginner questions, but she packaged up my goodies in a just few days and told me to take as long as I needed with hers, to give me a head start.

I've always preferred to work with digital options when it comes to notebooks but this Brain Freeze notebook arrived in the mail and it was just too cute to not use.

I've been using it to clear all the ideas from my head every night, and after a week, I'm in love with it. Not only does it look like an ice cream sandwich, but it's bound to lay flat and has a handy unlined section in the middle, which is perfect for sketching out ideas. We'll have some to give away on CO+K soon, so keep your eye out if you want one!

My new ingredient to experiment with this week was Hazelnut Butter (also picked up from Whole Foods Market a few weeks ago). I was expecting the consistency of peanut butter but this was really runny with a layer of oil on the top. It tasted really good though - imagine Nutella without the chocolate!

Suck UK sent me some of their edible eyes to experiment with a few weeks ago and I'd been waiting for the perfect recipe to test them out with. Very "two birds, one stone" I decided to make some bear truffle energy bites using the hazelnut butter and they looked adorable with the eyes on. Recipe coming soon...
