Tom treated me to a tasty breakfast of avocado toast topped with a fried egg. It was exactly what I needed to fuel my day, as I'd be spending the morning food shopping in Swedish deli's, and the afternoon cooking up a smorgasbord for our Eurovision party in the evening.

  2. Edit

The first recipe on my To-Cook List was a traditional Swedish potato salad with apple, cucumber, celery, capers and a creamy dill dressing. I also made some vegetarian meatballs in a tomato sauce and a pasta salad.

Appropriately, I'd treated myself to a traditional Swedish (aka Ikea) flour sifter, earlier in the day and it came in handy for dusting my Kladdkaka chocolate cake with icing sugar.

All that was left to do was top up the champagne glasses with fresh berries and mix up a few dill & elderflower martinis and my Smorgasbord was ready.

Alex, Duncan, Katie & Phil joined us and I'd put Katie in charge of coming up with a drinking game and printing out some judging cards so we could score along with the show.

  7. Edit

We attempted to judge along with the show, writing down notes and scores for each country. My favourite was Jamie-Lee who was the crafty and kawaii entry from Germany.

Bobbin was cheering for Russian and gave up with the whole thing, when they lost to the Ukraine.
