It was New Year's Eve today and we had plans for karaoke, bento and watching the fireworks at the street party with Jenny, Rob, Malcolm, Kirsty & Lynsey.

But, before we could celebrate 2016, we celebrated the new year with Rin in Japan by toasting him kanpai with sake.

Lynsey, Rob, Kirsty & Malcolm arrived a little later and we played karaoke. It was so much fun catching up with everyone - it's been too long since we've seen all of them.

All the cocktail making I've been doing for work throughout the year paid off when I invented two new cocktails for the evening. The first was named the Jenny Blend and combined coffee tequila with Irish cream, vodka and white creme de cacoa for a tasty twist on an espresso martini, while the second was delicious and floral with violet liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup and lemoncello.

We headed out for sushi and bento boxes at Bentoya for dinner before heading to the street party.
