I'd scribbled down this idea for a Sweet November Cake years ago but always forgot to bake it when November came around... until this year.

It's an apple and almond cake with Minus 55 gin in the syrup on top.

We had free tickets for the Steve Jobs film in the evening, so we met my parents in town and went to see that followed by the new James Bond film, Spectre.
