The Queen was opening a brand new railway station just outside Edinburgh at Newtongrange today and unveiling a plaque, so we took my Nana along to see her.
The station was crowded when we arrived and we couldn't see a thing but Nana was in her wheelchair so we got rushed to a special area where we had the perfect view of the plaque, the Queen's body guard and secret service agents wearing earpieces.
The Queen was running an hour late but eventually arrived on a fancy steam train. She was so much shorter than I thought she would be and I had to stand on my tiptoes to see her.
The Queen walked around and shook hands for a few minutes, unveilved the plaque and then jumped back on her train.
We took Nana for lunch at a very art deco Weatherspoon's in Musselburgh afterwards. Tom got Nana some prints of our photos from the day so she could prove to everyone that she really had seen the Queen today.
