  1. Checkin at Inverleith Park
    1. Edit

We had press passes for the Foodies Festival down at Inverleith Park this weekend so we headed along to check it out.

The best way to describe the festival was like a giant farmers market, with dozens of stalls offering free samples, pop-up bars and restaurants, and tents featuring masterclasses.

With so many options, it was hard to choose where to have lunch but we settled on a halloumi wrap which we tucked into at a long picnic table.

All of the gin companies were offering free samples and we made our way around all of them but I ended up a little tipsy, as they kept giving Tom samples he couldn't drink while driving Fig.

One of the highlights was getting to taste test some crab dishes while answering a questionnaire on how appealing it looked and how likely we would be to order it from a menu.

    8. Edit

I couldn't resist picking up a macaroon for the road before we headed home.

One of the other things I'd got from the festival was some sea veg, which tasted really go on it's own as a snack but I couldn't resist using for a recipe.

  3. Edit

I ended up making some stir fry broccoli with lots of soya sauce and toasted cashews. I thought it was delicious but Tom couldn't face the idea of eating mini trees.
