I've never really watched The Great British Bake Off before, which is a little surprising because I get sent all the cookbooks, so this season, I've decided to watch and bake along.

"Our" first challenge was to bake a Madeira cake, so I decided to make mine lemon sherbet flavoured with a syrup made from crushed lemon sweets, candied lemons and fresh raspberries which Mum had brought from her garden. Do you think I'd make it through?

  2. Checkin at Thread & Heather
    1. Edit

My 30 day crochet habit has been going a little too well, so Mum & I had to head along to Thread & Heather to stock up on yarn. Katie & Phil were there and gave us our own private tea tasting which was lovely. I've definitely been a lot craftier since their awesome craft shop opened a block away from our house.

  3. Edit

As well as wanting to see Nana and give her a slice of cake, I really wanted to catch up with her cat Dime, who I'd crocheted a very special collar for.

  4. Edit

I'd used my jewelry stamping kit to punch him a name tag and then crocheted him a bow-tie so make him look especially dapper.

  5. Edit

We'd prepared ourselves for a long battle of trying to get it on him but it was as easy as could be and he looked so cute with it on.

  6. Checkin at Kinghorn Loch
    1. Edit

We stopped off to see the ducks at Kinghorn Loch which Mum has been telling us lots of funny stories about before heading back through to Edinburgh.

  7. Checkin at Greenside Venue
    1. Edit

We got lucky and managed to get some last minute tickets to Hedwig & The Angry Inch at Greenside which had been all sold out.

    2. Edit

It was so good and just like as if Hedwig was performing a gig at the festival. I got a Sugar Daddy cocktail with gummy bears to take in.
