      We haven't seen Ailsa in years so I was so excited when she said she was free tonight to come to the Festival Magazine launch party.

      We started with drinks at Hoot The Redeemer, a new fun-fair themed bar from Panda & Sons with a fortune teller guarding the door and pages from 50 Shades Of Grey wallpapering the toilets.

      I ordered a cocktail slushie and some alcoholic ice cream from a vending machine while Tom tried to get flavours for his cocktail from a grabby machine.

      The Festival Magazine launch party was at the Spiegeltent with Edinburgh Gin cocktails, strange watermelon & feta canapés (a very odd combination) and some performances from festival acts.

      Katherine Ryan was on the cover of the magazine so I was really hoping she might perform but we had to make do with a creepy clown, chair acrobats and some Japanese drummers instead.

      I kept entertained by turning flyers into origami boxes and then Loraine joined us too so it was fun to catch up.
