  1. Checkin at Carlops
    1. Edit

I'm pretty sure we woke up in the cosiest bed on earth this morning, in the bothy in Keava's parents garden, with Sammy curled up between us.

    2. Edit

Rosa had whisked up some tasty eggs for breakfast. They tasted really good and she said mustard was her secret ingredient.

    3. Edit

We hugged Keava & Rosa goodbye after breakfast and headed back to Edinburgh with cartons full of eggs.

  3. Edit

There was a huge rainbow on the drive back to Edinburgh which looked really pretty over the Pentland Hills.

  4. Edit

We arrived home to find a parcel from Trotter's Independent Condiments with whisky marmalade, blackcurrant jam and hot pepper jelly which was perfect timing as I was planning to bake Nana a birthday cake.

  5. Edit

Putting the eggs to the test from the chickens in Carlops, I made a chocolate marmalade cake with dark chocolate and lots of fresh orange pulp.

  6. Edit

I used the whisky marmalade from Trotter's in the batter and to sandwich the cake which gave it a really nice kick and candied orange peel for the top. It looks and smells amazing but we have to resist trying any until Nana's birthday tomorrow.

  7. Edit

Inspired by the teapot cocktails we had in Carlops yesterday, I used the remaining oranges to make a marmalade g&t.
