      We woke up in our cosy bed at the Malmaison in Dundee this morning and it was time for breakfast in the bistro.

        After staying at so many cheap motels in America, I've come to expect very little from free breakfasts but this was something totally different. We helped ourselves to pastries and homemade granola before shown to a seat with an amazing view over the riverfront.

      Our cooked dishes took an hour to arrive, which was a bit annoying but my waffles with salmon and cream cheese were delicious and Tom loved his eggs florentine.

      Because breakfast took so long, it was time for the afternoon almost directly afterwards, so we checked out and made our way back to the bistro where we were poured glasses of champagne.

      We tucked into sandwiches, cakes, scones and really tasty creme brûlée tarts but we weren't that hungry after breakfast, so we got a box to take our leftovers away.

      We headed out into town afterwards where we found a few copies of our book in Waterstones. Tom did the sneaky thing this time, saying "noone cares about this woodwork & whittling do they?" as he placed ours in front.

    It was lovely and sunny, so we put the roof down on Fig and took a drive around our old haunts. Hillside Halls has actually been demolished after years of them telling everyone they were the last year of students who would be staying there.

      We met up with Duncan & Alex at the harbour in Broughty Ferry afterwards where we tucked into fudge donuts while watching a man play with his drone.

      We gave Duncan a LEGO F1 car for his birthday which I was really glad he liked.

      Duncan was having a get together for his birthday in the evening at Duke's Corner where we had burgers, sweet potato fries and fried pickles.

      We went for a few drinks at BrewDog afterwards where Tom got to drink no-alcohol Nanny State before driving back to Edinburgh. We were locked out when we got home and then realised my parents had decided to stay over and weren't expecting us back.
